This is our newest committee! Starting in 2019, the social erasmus committee organizes activities that contribute to society. Such SocialErasmus projects are aiming to give international students the chance to contribute to the local community here in Wageningen. Their first project was the ‘Walk with the Elderly’. Once a month on a Wednesday, the integration committee is taking elderly to the market together with other interested students. This little trip used to be part of their weekly schedule, but lack of staff forced the care home to cancel it. Each last Wednesday of the month, we will, therefore, re-introduce this event! Even though this event will only take place once a month, it can make a huge difference in the lives of these people.

This year the social erasmus committee started to organize much more next to the Walk with the Elderly. A bingo evening with mentally disabled people, ‘how to make sustainable Christmas decoration’ workshop, cooking with refugees are just a few of many examples.

Since there a lot of options for different activities, there will be a lot of brainstorm sessions in which committee members can share all their ideas during the committee meetings. Does all of this sound interesting to you? Find out on this page how you can apply for this committee!
