Are you new here in Wageningen and excited to start studying here? Come to the activities ESN is organizing during the WinterAID and get to know Wageningen and make a lot of new friends!
The ESN activities during the WinterAID are mainly focusing on getting to know the organisation, but also getting familiar with Wageningen. Follow this event and our Instagram (esn_wageningen) to stay up to date on the latest news of the activities ESN Wageningen is hosting this week!
Monday, 10th of Feb
Bike Sale (10:00-12:45) @ Forum (front)
Whenever students go anywhere in Wageningen, they do so by bike! So be prepared and get a bike for the WinterAID and thereafter. You can arrange one yourself, or buy/rent one at the bike sale on Monday! Also, ESN is handing out free European Simcards near the registration desks.
Pubquiz (20:30 - 22:30) @Spot
Tonight we will organise a pub quiz for you! Test your knowledge in the different question rounds, become the smartest group of the WinterAID and win a prize! Later you can celebrate victory or try to forget losing at our after drink at Cafe Loburg!
During the Pubquiz you can also buy your tickets together with your group for the Pubcrawl! (€10 per person in CASH)
After drink (22:30 - 2:00) @ Cafe Loburg
Every Monday ESN is organizing an International Student Night at Cafe Loburg! During these evenings we organize activities like karaoke, beer pong tournaments, pubquizzes, speedmeets and a lot more! However, this evening it will be all about you getting to know your group and processing of everything you have done the first day of the AID!
Tuesday, 11th of Feb
Crazy 66 (14:00 - 17:15) @ Campus
Learn traditional Dutch games during the Crazy 66. We will teach you koekhappen and spijkerpoepen. Literally translated this is biscuit biting and nail shitting! Are you curious? Come find us during the Crazy 66!
Wednesday, 12th of Feb
City Tour (10:00-13:00) @ Wageningen city centre (start at ESN office)
Get to know the city of Wageningen during a lovely walk around town! It will show you important spots of Wageningen and Dutch culture. You will also get the chance to try some typical Dutch foods. It won't be a full meal, so don't forget to bring lunch!
Thursday, 13th of Feb
Pub Crawl (start at 21:00 or 21:30, depending on the group you are in)
Join us and discover some of the pubs that Wageningen has to offer together with your fellow students. Use this opportunity to already check off a challenge of the ESN Bucketlist: visit at least five cafés in Wageningen. (You can get your own bucket list from one of the ESN board members during the AID.) Since we are close to a very special day: the dress code will be Valentine! So, find your best Valentine's outfit for this lovely evening. Tickets for the Pub Crawl are sold during the Pubquiz at the Spot on Monday (in CASH) or during office hours (CASH or CARD)! Be fast, limited amount of tickets available!
Friday, 14th of Feb
Infomarket (14:00- 16:00) @Spot
The Winter Lounge is a good way to ask all your unanswered questions about ESN or Wageningen in general. Also, we will be handing out cool merchandise, selling ESNcards and ESN bags!
Dutch Kitchen (17:45 - 22:00, two rounds) @KSV Franciscus
ESN is famous for its international kitchens! A nice three-course dinner will be prepared for you, so you can try some delicious traditional Dutch food, while learning more about the country, to complete your introduction to the Netherlands! Looking forward to the next kitchen? In Period 4 (25/02), the next kitchen will be organized.
Saturday, 15th of Feb
Closing Party: DiscGlow (22:30 - 03:30) @H41
How was the WinterAID so far? It is going to be even better: dance the night away at the WinterAID closing party and have fun together with all the new friends you've made!
During this Disco Glow in the Dark party, we will make sure that you can end this amazing introduction week in the right way! Hope to see you there!
